Re: 32kgというのは・・・

Hello, thank you once again!

Yea, the Japanese website says so, but if you read the Eng website carefully, there is the sentence as follows (this is missing in the Japanese website) :

"Note 1: Allowed weight per piece in Economy class is 23kgs/50lbs with the exception between Brazil/Japan/China/South Korea/Hong Kong and USA/Canada where the bags may weigh up to 32Kgs70Lbs in all classes."

URL http://www.emirates.com/tz/TravellerInformation/FAQ/Baggage.asp

Now, I am traveling between Dar-es-Salaam and Osaka by Emirates, so this exceptional note does not apply for my case. Is this right? I came to Tanzania from New York, USA, so my allowance was 32 kg...

I wonder how much approxmately I will be charged. I hope that it is not too much. My baggage will be about 30kg. Could you let me know the cost if you know it.

Thank you very much.

    Satokibi-san,

Thank you always for your advice. I phoned the Emirates office, and was told me the same thing. However, I could not be satisfied with them, and they told me to come to the office. I may get a waiver for exceeding amount, but not sure though.

Also, the lady at the office on the phone mentioned that they require 20kg at max, but in practice, they allow +3kg more. So I can check in 23 kg baggage and carry other bags into the airplane. My suitcase was about 30kg at NY, and I do hope that I will not have to pay or pay at minimum.

My final destination is Haneda. Is it possible to check in to Haneda? Or to Osaka??

    Thank you for your help.
